So here’s the comparison between the successor and predecessor, the one and only Ps vita known as the mini Ps3 VS the player in the field for 6 years, the veteran “PSP”.
Power – Vita
You didn’t need an Einstein head to say the vita wins here. Ps vita’s brain is made up of a 4 core ARM cortex A9 processor which uses less power and performs with serious attitude. And the PS vita’s heart is a 4 core SGX543MP4 GPU which delivers mind blowing constant 60fps in games. That’s a good math!
Graphics – Vita
Vita features a 5” OLED screen which has the superior Display and graphics. PSP improved its Screen size to 4.3” from 3.8”in last few years. And also made some improvements to the LCD screen. Speaking of Display, PSP had only half the resolution of PSV. And PSV can play games at 60 frames per sec.
Technology – Vita
PSP technology is still in the same age that of PS2. And PSV which is firstly known as Next Generation Portable is using new hardware and technology. But 3DS technology is still dominating both these two. Sorry, I’m off topic again.
Price – PSP
Sony slashed the price of PSP last year before the psv came. And still PSP is outselling PS vita system. Why? Because of the Price and performance that psp can do. The PSP games prices are 20$-30$ lesser than ps vita and there are plenty of games you can choose from library of games. The PS vita Priced $249 for Wi-FI version and more for 3G version. And the games are priced very high. You can buy a PSP and 3 Exclusive games for that Price. From Consumer side PSP wins at Selling Point.
Battery Life – Tie
Both Devices can Long Last up to 5- 6 hours. But considering the functions vita handling at this power it has the edge here.
Games – PSP
The PSP library of games is established and still expanding. As a gamer you’ll get more exclusive and also third party games for PSP than PSP. The PS vita games are few but are powerful and truly enjoyable. Most games are currently being developing or not out yet.
My conclusion
PS vita dominating in all parts of the hardware but speaking of software and games, PSP has the edge here. As by a gamer I’ll choose PSP because of great library of games. And will consider PSV after some time.
